
With the 2030 Winter Olympics on the horizon, the Nagano Academy is taking another step in its international development by expanding its activities to France. In collaboration with the FFSG (French Federation of Ice Sports), it is organizing an international Short-Track training camp in Font-Romeu .
Located at an altitude of 1800 meters, this iconic site has hosted Olympic teams for several decades, both summer and winter. Its unique environment, combined with state-of-the-art facilities, makes it a prime location for the physical and technical preparation of elite athletes.
An intensive training course at the heart of performance
The training camp will take place from August 9th to 15th, 2026 , and is open to French and international skaters. For seven days , participants will benefit from an intensive and structured program including:
- 12 ice training sessions
- 12 dryland training sessions
- 6 technical conferences dedicated to Short-Track
The schedule will be as follows:
- Sunday, August 9: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
- Saturday, August 15: 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
This comprehensive program aims to immerse athletes in a true performance culture, combining biomechanics of movement, technical and tactical work, physical preparation and exchanges with international experts.

Exceptional support
Participants will be coached by Olympian coaches specializing in the discipline: Charles Hamelin, Éric Bedard, and Thibaut Fauconnet . This top-level coaching will impart the methods and standards used at the highest international level, thus offering a unique experience to the young athletes.
Dedicated support for coaches
Beyond the athletes, a specific mentoring program is offered to European coaches. They will be able to participate daily in sessions with the coaches and attend seminars every evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The topics covered include:
- Training planning
- Video analysis
- Biomechanics
- Feedback from high-level experience
This program is offered at a price of €400 , including mentoring, accommodation and meals.
Conditions and organization
Two options are offered to athletes:
- €650 : internship with accommodation and meals at the CREPS
- €425 : internship only
Accommodation is provided at the CREPS:
- Athletes: shared rooms (up to 6 people)
- Coaches: shared rooms (two people per room)
Access to the site is facilitated by the proximity of Perpignan Rivesaltes Méditerranée Airport and Perpignan TGV station , located approximately one and a half hours away by road, or Barcelona-El Prat Airport , located approximately two hours away by road.

Ambitious sporting goals
This training camp is aimed at skaters aged 10 to 20 , of all competitive levels, sharing a clear ambition to progress towards the highest level.

- Working on the quality of departures
- Controlling overruns
- Increase the volume and intensity of training
